Mas Bands
The Carnival Parade will start from Alexandra Park at 12 noon on Saturday 18 July returning to the park by 3.30pm.

The parade route will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Betweeen 4-6pm the troupes will parade on the main stage for
the judging of Best band of the year, Carnival Queens, Princesses and Prince

 

 

2007 is a special year for the African Caribbean Community. CCOM are celebrating the abolition of transatlantic slavery by involving an unprecedented number of local troupes and participants. 15 troupes and around 450 troupe particpants!

In partnership with local carnival trainers CCOM are running a whole series of carnival costume making workshops for young people throughut Manchester. Workshops will reflect the carnival theme of Echoes of Freedom.
 

Many of the troupes are keeping close tabs on their designs, themes and names.
